The New York Knicks are reportedly trying to do whatever it takes (and move whoever they have to not named Carmelo) to get into the 2016 NBA Draft.

In just under four weeks, teams from across the NBA will be in Brooklyn, New York for the 2016 edition of the player draft. One of the Big Apple’s two franchises, the New York Knicks, are not scheduled to be inside the Barclays Center as they don’t have a pick in either round this year (thanks to some “amazing” trades over the years before Phil Jackson took over the front office).

In spite of that, the Knicks are trying to get back into the draft and are willing to trade whoever it takes (well, except for Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis … but everyone else is fair game). Ian Begley from ESPN.com is reporting the team is looking to get something in either round:

"The Knicks plan to acquire a pick in June’s draft. The best-case scenario would probably be a late first-round pick but second-round is more likely. The club has shown interest in several players in recent weeks."

Begley said that some of the players the Knicks are looking at wanting to take if they can get a pick include former Indiana Hoosiers guard Yogi Ferrell and Kansas Jayhawks star guard Wayne Selden. The team has still been working out players recently in spite of not having a pick at the moment.

The Knicks could also be looking to kill two birds with one stone if they are able to make some trades and free up some cap space at the same time. A move like that would allow them to make a run in the offseason at several free agents, including the man thought to be the biggest prize this offseason in Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant.
