Baylor Bears wide receiver KD Cannon will not transfer and will finish his college football career in Waco.

It’s been an ugly week at Baylor where head football coach Art Briles was fired on Thursday for essentially allowing his players to commit sexual assault, dating violence and other assaults without fear of penalty. Further university president Ken Starr was demoted to chancellor and athletic director Ian McCaw was sanctioned.

There was an outpouring of reactions to the news on Thursday morning, including from receiver KD Cannon who was upset to see the coach who recruited him to Baylor lose his job.

He was vocal on twitter about his feelings, but he clarified his heat of the moment comments from Thursday on Friday night to say Baylor is his home and that’s where he will stay and finish his college career.

"BAYLOR IS MY HOME AND THATS WHERE I WILL STAY AND FINISH MY COLLEGE CAREER"

If Cannon decided to transfer to another FBS school he would have to sit out the 2016 season before being eligible to play in 2017 per NCAA transfer rules. He is draft-eligible at the end of this season and could follow his former teammate, Corey Coleman as a first round pick next year so a transfer didn’t seem to be in his best interests.

Cannon is one of the best deep threats in football and a threat to score every time he touches the ball. With quarterback Seth Russell returning from a neck injury, the Bears offense has the talent to be as potent as they were when Briles was on the sideline.
