Looking at the Louisville Regional for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament now that the field is set

The 2016 college baseball season has been one of the most tightly contested in quite some time from top to bottom. Not only have the best teams in the country not really separated themselves from one another, but the teams below them have been nipping at their heels all year. All that only added to the anticipation of the reveal of the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament bracket on Monday afternoon.

As anyone who keeps up with college baseball knows, the NCAA Baseball Tournament is unlike anything else in sports in terms of format. It all starts with 16 regional brackets of four teams playing in a double-elimination tournament and the winners advancing to the Super Regionals from there. So it only makes the excitement all the more palpable for the Regionals, such as the Louisville Regional.

The Louisville Regional was set on Monday obviously with the bracket being revealed and here are the four teams and their seeds in the regional:

As the No. 2 national seed, the Louisville Cardinals as the hosts in this region are going to be huge to watch throughout this tournament and obviously in this region. The question is whether or not they can live up to all of the hype and capitalize on being one of the most talented teams in the country or if they’ll falter on their home field.
