Craig Sager will throw out the first pitch at the Chicago Cubs tomorrow for “Conquer Cancer Day” at Wrigley Field.

Turner Sports veteran sideline reporter Craig Sager will throw out the first pitch and sing the Seventh Inning Stretch at the Cubs game tomorrow.

The Cubs are having “Conquer Cancer Day” at the ballpark on Wednesday as he continues his battle with leukemia.

Sager was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and it returned in March but he has continued to work through all his treatments like a true warrior who is determined to conquer cancer.

So it’s very fitting that the lifelong Cubs fan would get the honor of throwing out the first pitch and singing the stretch with 40,000-plus fans at Wrigley Field on Wednesday.

Sager tells The Chicago Tribune of his once in a lifetime feat.

"“I’ve done World Cup soccer, Wimbledon, the Olympics, the NBA, Super Bowls, everything … Kentucky Derbys, Indy 500s. There really was nothing I could think of that I hadn’t done. Then I talked to the Cubs about this and said, ‘Oh my God, I hadn’t even thought about that.’”"

As for Sager’s health, he continues to fight and offered an update to his battle.

"“My platelets are down to 3 — my all-time record low — and my hemoglobin is down to 7,” Sager said, referring to the numbers that measure how well his blood clots and carries oxygen. “That even scared me a bit. My platelets should be above 20. … I guess I made it back just in time.”"

Sager will get to see Jon Lester who beat cancer earlier in his playing career start for the Cubs as well as Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo who also beat cancer. Here’s to hoping Sager will do the same.
