Could the Cleveland Cavaliers already be considering trading Kevin Love this offseason?

With the NBA Finals looking like they could be a clean sweep by the Golden State Warriors, everyone is mashing the panic button when it comes to how the Cleveland Cavaliers can fix things.

Of course, with basically no money to spend in free agency and a market that isn’t that bountiful, the natural reaction to this panic is to begin suggesting possible trades to be made. Even more naturally, Kevin Love trade rumors are starting to push their way to the forefront.

According to Chris Mannix of The Vertical, the Cavaliers big shakeup this summer could be to trade Kevin Love.

Now, this isn’t a report that the Cavaliers are going to be trading Love or that they have already placed him on the block — but that’s kind of already been done for them.

Love is one of the elite power forwards in the NBA, and there will always be high trade interest in acquiring him around the league. Teams like Boston, Los Angeles and others would likely entertain the idea of acquiring Love, so it’s not as though the Cavaliers would have a hard time finding a partner to talk trades with.

It’s also worth noting that Love is, as he has been, the most expendable piece of the Cavaliers Big 3. LeBron isn’t going anywhere he doesn’t want to go and it’s pointless to try and find a franchise point guard when you already have one in Kyrie Irving.

While it’s very likely that the Cavaliers don’t make a trade this summer, the harder they flame out in the NBA Finals will be an indicator of how intense the trade rumors will burn.
