Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden is suing his former business manager for $15 million dollars for mishandling his money.

For years, Cowboys running back Darren McFadden has tried to shed the label of being a bust in the National Football League. Now he is trying to recoup the money he made earning that label.  On Thursday, McFadden filed a lawsuit in Federal Court in Little Rock, Arkansas suing his former business manager for $15 million dollars.

Michael Vick, not be confused with the former NFL quarterback who had his own battles with the law, is a former family friend of McFadden who gained power of attorney through the use of fraudulent documents two days after he made his NFL debut. Vick, who is listed in the lawsuit along with ten other people, told the Associated Press he had not seen the lawsuit and declined to comment.

McFadden found out about the fraud when Vick tried to sell him a building with funds he stole from the running back. He told the Dallas Morning News that he fired Vick as his business manager six to seven months ago, and last month revoked his power of attorney.

The 29-year old McFadden has earned an estimated $46.7 million dollars in his career, which included a six-year, $60 million dollar deal from the Oakland Raiders when they drafted him out of the University of Arkansas. The Raiders selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 draft, though he never lived up to his potential in Oakland due to injuries and lack of production.

He signed a two-year, $5.85 million dollar deal with the Dallas Cowboys in March of 2015, and had one of his better seasons of his career last year. McFadden put together his first 1,000 yard season since 2010 while scoring three touchdowns. The Cowboys drafted Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, so McFadden will have to battle for playing time this season.
