Wales had been defending the whole half, but Gareth Bale took one chance and put Wales up 1-0 over England late in the first half.

With England desperate for three points after drawing with Russia, it was attacking for much of the first half against Wales.

Although much of the play was in the Welsh half, England was not threatening at all. It had a couple of chances but like its first game, it didn’t take their chances.

Gareth Bale, however, in his first game and this one, has taken his chances. He scored a free kick in his first game and scored his second free kick from 35 yards against Joe Hart.

Not taking anything away from Bale, but Hart should save this. It seems like he is slow getting to the ball and almost slips on his way there. But Bale does his job. He puts it on target, he dips it and puts Hart in a rough place.

This goal gives Bale two for the tournament and he is tied for the lead in the tournament thus far. If results hold, Wales will be through to the knockout stage and England will be on the verge of exiting the tournament far earlier than they had planned.

Bale made some comments about how passionate this Welsh side is. They have backed up that statement and are at halftime with a 1-0 behind a classy goal from their superstar Gareth Bale.
