Recent NBA Trade Rumors suggest that the Cleveland Cavaliers are still interested in trading forward Kevin Love.

On the Lowe Post podcast with Zach Lowe, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers will still listed to trade offers on forward Kevin Love this off season.

Love has always seemed to be the odd man out in Cleveland, and was fully expected to be the fall guy if the Cavaliers failed to bring home a championship. That being said, Love played extremely well for the Cavs in their Game 7 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Realistically, one game does not change much. Love is still a talented NBA player, but his fit in Cleveland is still odd. The Cavs lack impact players on the wing and would theoretically love to improve their ability on the perimeter in exchange for Love.

The Boston Celtics have always made a lot of sense for Love, and Windhorst mentioned them as an obvious suitor.

“I happen to know the Cavs really like Avery Bradley and to me, I would want Marcus Smart and I would want one of the draft picks. You’re not getting the high pick obviously, but you want one a draft pick,” Windhorst said.

In theory, that is a trade which could world. Love is a tremendous low-post scorer who would make a significant impact in the Celtics’ offense who have been begging for a number one guy to go to. I doubt the Celtics would part with both Bradley, Smart and a draft pick for Love, but it is not that far off.

However, the Cavs are now trading from a position of strength. They just proved that they can win an NBA title with Love on the roster. They may want to move him, but it is far from an essential move to be made.

With the NBA Draft quickly approaching, it will be very interesting to see if we get any more traction on trade involving Love.
