Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 24 DraftKings lineup.

To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

High Salary

Buster Posey, Giants (5,100): Posey is extremely expensive compared to other catchers on Friday’s slate. No other catcher is within 1,000 of his price. This could help keep Posey’s ownership percentage down. San Francisco should be able to score some runs off of Philadelphia Phillies rookie Zach Eflin (0-2, 10.80 ERA). If you’re paying up at catcher, Posey is the guy you want.

Welington Castillo, Diamondbacks (4,000): Of course, if you want to save 1,100 in salary and still get a premier catching matchup, look no further than “Beef Welington.” Castillo is destroying left-handers this season (.338, six home runs) and on Friday faces a rookie lefty at Coors Field. That’s an appealing scenario.

High Value

Matt Wieters, Orioles (3,600): Wieters has struggled against left-handers this season, but he’s had the number of Tampa Bay Rays southpaw Matt Moore in the past. Wieters is 8-for-20 with three extra-base hits and three RBIs against Moore (3-4, 4.90 ERA) in his career. Wieters has seven hits over his last three games, and again looks like a strong play on Friday.

Stephen Vogt, Athletics (3,300): It’s been a quiet season for Vogt from a power perspective, as he has just five home runs and 17 RBIs through 59 games. His average (.265) is decent though, particularly for a catcher, and he’s had success (7-for-25, one home run) against Los Angeles Angels veteran righty Jered Weaver (6-6, 5.10 ERA).
