Johnny Manziel’s dad didn’t hold back on what he thought about his son and his current issues.

Things continue to get worse for former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel.

On Friday, Manziel’s lawyer, Bob Hinton, accidentally sent a text to The Associated Press that mentioned his doubts in Manziel’s ability to get clean and made mention of a plea deal in his assault case. The text also detailed $1,000 in purchases by Manziel at a drug paraphernalia store after he was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

With yet another incident for Manziel coming to light and the quarterback’s issues appearing to not be getting any better, his dad, Paul Manziel, spoke to ESPN’s Josina Anderson and had strong words about his son. His dad told Anderson that he hoped his son would go to jail.

"“He’s a druggie. It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie,” Paul Manziel said Friday. “I don’t know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help. He just hasn’t seeked it yet. Hopefully he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses. That’s about all you can say. I don’t know what else to say.“I hate to say it but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him. So we’ll see.”"

For a father to refer to his son as a “druggie” and hope that he goes to jail really goes to show just how bad of shape Manziel really is in at the moment.

This comes not long after Manziel was seen looking ridiculously unhealthy and getting kicked out of a club for starting a fight in Las Vegas.

Add in the embarrassment of his lawyer accidentally sending a text to the wrong person and things are not good for the quarterback that is trying to get clean. Football is clearly out of the question at this point, as Manziel has other important issues in front of him to address.

His dad sees the writing on the wall too.
