Johnny Manziel’s lawyer accidentally texts AP about case
By Hunter Cooke
Johnny Manziel was one of the best quarterbacks to ever play college football. His combination of arm strength and escapability was unparalleled among the college ranks. However, when Manziel was at Texas A&M, he was arguably more well known for his antics off the field than on it. From partying with Drake to his friendship with LeBron James, Manziel was well on his way to being a cultural phenomenon.
Recently, the Manziel antics have turned from comically Blue Mountain State-esque to much darker issues. Manziel is the subject of a domestic abuse investigation that alleges he hit his girlfriend so hard he ruptured her eardrum.
On Friday, Manziel’s lawyer accidentally texted the Associated Press with concerns of Manziel’s sobriety and confirming that he was seeking a plea deal in the case.
This is what you call a total disaster. Manziel went from being one of the best athletes in American with all the promise one can imagine to being a complete mess on the verge of total self-destruction.

There were some who were concerned that his excessive partying and general gallivanting would lead into worse things. It seems like the people that assumed the slippery slope would apply to Manziel were right.
