Marshall Plumlee, one day after the NBA Draft, has agreed to a deal with the New York Knicks

The NBA Draft was held on Thursday night, and as always, there were a lot of notable names that were not announced in the two rounds. One of those names not announced was former Duke Blue Devils center Marshall Plumlee, leading many to believe that he might be joining the Army after all and not pursuing a career in the NBA.

Well, as of Friday, it seems that for now Plumlee does indeed have a home in the NBA.

According to a report, Plumlee has agreed to an undrafted free agent deal with the New York Knicks.

So, yeah, it looks as if plans for joining the Army might be on hold for Plumlee at the moment with this news that he will be trying to make the Knicks’ roster this coming season. It was reported last January that the Duke big man would be enrolling in the Army right after graduation, but it seems like plans have changed.

However, the Knicks could use some help down low, so there’s a chance Plumlee could find a permanent home in New York with Phil Jackson’s squad as they try to get back to relevancy in the Eastern Conference. We’ll have to see how well he performs now in the coming summer months.

During his four years at Duke, Plumlee averaged 3.4 points per game with 3.8 rebounds.
