Dani Alves has sealed a two-year deal with Italian giants Juventus.

After eight seasons with European giants Barcelona, right back Dani Alves will be looking for a new future in Italy’s top flight with Juventus.

The club confirmed the deal earlier today, after Alves completed his medical over the weekend. He has signed a two-year deal that is set to expire on June 30th 2018 and will have an option to extend his stay in Turin. This will be the third club he has joined, after he leaving Sevilla for Barcelona in 2008.

Alves has won countless trophies in his career, 23 to be exact. He is the second most decorated player in European soccer history, and will bring a lot of energy and experience to a Juventus team that has won five straight Serie A titles and are still looking for their first Champions League title since 1995/96.

Alves will be a key signing for Juventus. His speed and athleticism is still at a top-level, considering he is 33-years-old. He can defend, as well as be an attack force to be wary of. According to Juventus’ official website, Alves has completed the most forward passes out of any other full back in La Liga last season. He even has the third most assists out of any La Liga player (51) in the last seven seasons.

Juventus typically use a three-man back line, utilizing two wing backs. If that is the case, that could be Alves’ best position. He looks to still have enough gas to make forward runs and open space for his teammates. If manager Massimiliano Allegri decides to go also use a 4-3-1-2 formation, or something similar, than Alves would still be a good fit.
