Identifying the top high salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 28 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Matt Carpenter, Cardinals (5,000): Carpenter has hit safely in five of his last six games and has reached double digits in fantasy points six times in his last 10 games. He’s one of the most consistently productive infielders in the majors. His .310 average against right-handers bodes well for his Tuesday matchup with Kansas City Royals starter Yordano Ventura (6-4, 4.54 ERA).

Devon Travis, Blue Jays (4,900): Travis was a top play on Monday and he returned major value by homering (21 DK points). Travis once again stands out as a strong play on Tuesday’s slate in a matchup with Colorado Rockies right-hander Eddie Butler (2-4, 6.71 ERA). Travis is hitting .309 against righties and should stay hot against Colorado.

High Value

Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox (3,300): Pedroia has hit safely in six of his last seven games and will remain valuable hitting in the top third of the most dangerous lineup in the majors. His career numbers against Tampa Bay Rays righty Chris Archer (5-for-23) aren’t great, but at such a discounted price, Pedroia is worth a long look.

Brandon Phillips, Reds (2,600): The veteran Phillips is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, but he still has his moments. He’s hitting .270 against lefties this season, and is 6-for-18 in his career against Chicago Cubs southpaw Jon Lester (9-3, 2.10 ERA). Phillips is best viewed as a GPP punt play, but there’s a positive history here.
