Recent NBA Rumors have been about where Kevin Durant will sign this offseason. Do the Miami Heat have an advantage with the reported final meeting with KD?

Kevin Durant is easily the top free-agent prize this offseason with nobody believing LeBron James will leave Cleveland. NBA Rumors are always crazy this time of the year, and what teams Durant is meeting with has been highly talked about.

According to David Aldridge, Durant will be meeting with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, and the Miami Heat in that order.

It is a bit surprising to see the Heat getting the final meeting with Durant, as this could be a huge advantage for Pat Riley. After helping create the Big 3 in Miami, Riley can accomplish anything in the offseason, and he might be looking to make another huge splash in free agency.

Even though Durant would be a huge signing for the Heat, Riley does have other important issues to address this offseason. Dwyane Wade and Hassan Whiteside are also both free agents this offseason, and Riley’s offseason plan might change depending on how the meeting goes with Durant on Sunday.

After seeing what happened to the Los Angeles Lakers in recent years paying an aging Kob Bryant for what he did for the franchise instead of what he was able to do on the floor, Riley might do the unthinkable and consider moving on from Wade for Durant.

Whatever Riley’s offseason plans are, getting the last word with Durant before he makes a decision that could dramatically affect the NBA for years to come is an important thing. Now, let’s see if Riley can work his magic once again in South Beach and sign the premier free agent of this class.
