Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 1 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Michael Fulmer, Tigers (10,900): Johnny Cueto (12,100) and Julio Teheran (11,700) are fine options, but Fulmer might have the highest upside of any pitcher on the board Friday. His last few starts have been subpar, but his only double-digit strikeout performance came in late May against the Rays. Tampa Bay ranks fourth in the majors in strikeouts (718). Fulmer is a solid play.

Jacob deGrom, Mets (10,300): DeGrom has been remarkably consistent over the last month or so. In his last six starts, deGrom has pitched at least six innings, struck out at least six batters and allowed three or fewer runs. Like Fulmer, his strikeout upside is high on Friday due to his matchup with the Chicago Cubs, who rank ninth in strikeouts (675).

High Value

Ian Kennedy, Royals (8,800): To say Kennedy has been up and down recently is probably an understatement. Look at the fantasy point totals from his last four starts: 37.35, 6.00, 18.20, -5.85. If you roll with him on Friday, you’re hoping he can stay hot against a weak Philadelphia Phillies team. He’s better suited for GPPs, but there’s upside here.

Mike Fiers, Astros (6,900): Fiers, like Kennedy, has been a bit up and down. When he has his strikeout pitches working, Fiers can easily eclipse 20 fantasy points, which is significant value for a sub-7,000 price. Houston is hot, having won nine of its last 10, so Fiers could also be in a good position to pick up a win.
