The most efficient way to level up fast in Pokemon GO

With Pokemon GO sweeping the nation and many other countries across the globe, players everywhere have been trying to catch them all. From the most common types of Pokemon, like Rattata and Pidgey, to some rare catches like Onix or even Mewtwo, all of these Pokemon are up for grabs throughout the world. But, one of the biggest aspects of the game that most people care about is leveling up, and other than collecting the Pokemon, this may be the biggest reason why people play the game.

Leveling up is no easy task, especially once you reach a certain level. Catching the same Pokemon types over and over won’t give you much XP after awhile since it only rewards you 100 XP and there needs to be other means to level up faster. Capturing new Pokemon that you haven’t encountered before does reward you with a good amount of XP (500 XP), but that may get gradually difficult once you start capturing more of them since they become harder to find.

After numerous hours of gameplay with Pokemon GO, there’s one strategy that trumps the rest when it comes to receiving the most XP. It may be a grind and it will get redundant after awhile, but it’s definitely effective.

First, try to capture the same type of Pokemon multiple times. For example, when you capture 25 Rattata’s, you receive something called “Candy” for that specific type of Pokemon (this applies for every Pokemon). So, once you get 25 Rattata Candies, you can evolve that Rattata and that will reward you with 500 XP. In this case, don’t evolve the Rattata (you’ll see why soon enough). Rattata’s and Pidgey’s are the most common types of Pokemon and you will definitely encounter them everywhere you go, so stack up on those.

Secondly, a lucky egg. Receiving lucky eggs are very rare. You receive one when you reach level nine and you may get lucky after that, no pun intended, if you find another one. You can possibly find them from Pokestops, although that’s extremely rare, or you can simply purchase them from the shop. Regardless, if you have a lucky egg available at your disposal, save it for that special occasion. Lucky eggs reward you with double XP for 30 minutes, so they can be extremely useful.

Lastly, once you have enough Candies for that specific Pokemon or multiple types of Pokemon, you can activate that lucky egg. Then, start evolving those Pokemon. The most efficient way to do this is to stack up on different types of Pokemon and once you have the right amount of Candies for those Pokemon, activate the lucky egg and evolve those Pokemon. As stated before, evolving Pokemon will reward you with 500 XP. But, when the lucky egg is active, you’ll receive double that, which is 1000 XP. So, imagine you have five different types of Pokemon who are ready to be evolved. You activate your lucky egg and evolve those five Pokemon, which amounts to 5,000 XP. This is huge for someone who is level nine, for example, since they need 10,000 XP to reach level 10. They’ll be halfway there.

This is a great way and possibly, the most efficient way to level up your character. Let’s not forget the fact that you’ll be receiving XP points while farming up on all those Pokemon, so even in the process of stacking up those different types of Pokemon, you’re still receiving XP for every Pokemon you catch.
