Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 21 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Adam Wainwright, Cardinals (10,400): Stephen Strasburg (13,300) and Chris Tillman (9,100) both pitched in the earlier day games, so that left us with Wainwright as the top option. The three-time All-Star appears to be rounding into form, having tallied at least 24 DK points in his last three starts. He’s coming off a complete-game shutout (36.25 DK points) in his last start, and draws a home matchup with strikeout-heavy San Diego.

Steven Wright, Red Sox (9,300): Wright hasn’t been quite as dominating as he was earlier in the season, but he’s still a nice play against the team with the seventh-most strikeouts in the majors (Minnesota). Wright had one of his best outings (27.10 DK points) over the last two months against the Twins on June 10.

High Value

Francisco Liriano, Pirates (6,800): It’s been a rough season for Liriano (5-9, 5.11 ERA), and his last few starts reflect that. The veteran left-hander hasn’t topped 20 DK points since June 11. His matchup Thursday against division rival Milwaukee offers upside though, mostly in the form of strikeouts. The Brewers lead the majors in Ks with 879 entering play Thursday night.

Next: All-Time 25-Man MLB Roster

Sonny Gray, Athletics (6,100): Like Liriano, this season has seen an unexpected drop in production for Gray (4-8, 5.12 ERA). The 2015 All-Star just hasn’t been able to put together consistently strong starts. On Thursday, he’ll face the Tampa Bay Rays at home, a matchup that has upside. The last-place Rays have lost seven of their last 10 games and rank fourth in the majors in strikeouts (849).
