Even though much has happened since the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Finals over the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry is still not over it.

With the dust now cleared, Curry was finally asked for his opinions about the NBA Finals. He tells Fox Sports that is still not over it. The 6-foot-3 guard stated that it will always be in his mind. Curry also made sure to let people know that he was not going to let the loss to the Cavaliers hold him down. He and the Warriors are going to be back for more.

To his credit, Curry placed the blame firmly on his own shoulders. He admitted that he did not play at the level that NBA fans are accustomed to seeing him. Curry stated that the NBA Finals are the biggest stage in basketball, so he needs to step up when the Warriors needed him most.

The odds of Golden State making it back to the NBA Finals were increased tremendously thanks to free agency. Shockingly, the team managed to secure the services of Kevin Durant, who decided that he was not going to be able to win a title with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant is one of the best offensive forces that the league has ever seen.

Durant will form a very potent starting lineup with Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Zaza Pachulia. Shaun Livingston, Andre Iguodala and David West should provide quality depth off the bench. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr should be able to come up with some interesting lineups to throw at opponents.

Of course, the addition of Durant did come at a little bit of a cost to Golden State. The team was forced to let Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut leave. Both are now starters for the Dallas Mavericks, who indirectly benefited by the fact that the Thunder were not able to convince their franchise player to stick around.

Lots of retired NBA stars still talk about how much losing in the NBA Finals still affects them. To make the most of the situation, Curry needs to learn to turn the disappointment into motivation.
