Identifying the top high salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 22 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jason Kipnis, Indians (5,500): Let’s see — 10 total hits over his current five-game hitting streak, four double-digit DK-point totals in his last five games, and five home runs through the first 16 games of July. It sure looks like the two-time All-Star is rounding into form. Kipnis is hitting an even .300 against right-handers this season, so he’s an elite play Friday against Baltimore Orioles starter Dylan Bundy (2-2, 3.70 ERA).

Daniel Murphy, Nationals (4,900): Murphy (.350) no longer leads the majors in batting average (Jose Altuve, .357), but he still has a wide lead in the National League. That’s due in no small part to Murphy’s dominance of right-handed pitchers this season. Murphy is hitting .367 with a .633 slugging percentage against righties. He’s a safe play (with upside) against San Diego Padres startr Luis Perdomo (3-4, 7.36 ERA).

High Value

Jace Peterson, Braves (3,500): Atlanta managed just three runs in the series opener at Coors Field on Thursday, but we’re expecting a few more runs Friday against Rockies right-hander Jon Gray (5-4, 4.33 ERA). The 26-year-old Peterson is hitting .277 against righties this season. He’s likely to be low-owned, and the upside is there. He’s worth a look for GPPs, at least.

Starlin Castro, Yankees (2,600): Surely we can’t be serious. New York is hosting San Francisco and, gulp, left-handed ace Madison Bumgarner! Well, yes, this is true, but have you seen Castro’s career numbers against Bumgarner? He’s only 11-for-26 (.423) with a pair of doubles. Also keep in mind that the Giants enter play Friday on a five-game losing streak. For this super low price, Castro is worth a shot.
