Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 22 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Trevor Story, Rockies (5,300): After consecutive games with home runs, Story has now put together back-to-back hitless outings. That will happen with rookies. Still, Story and the Rockies are at home, which always provides a fantasy boost, against a last-place team in the Atlanta Braves. Julio Teheran (3-8, 2.79 ERA) is a great pitcher, but we’re banking on Coors Field winning this battle. Story should benefit on Friday.

Francisco Lindor, Indians (4,900): Lindor perhaps gets overlooked among the great shortstops around the majors, but the first-time All-Star is a rising star. He’s hitting .299 overall (.290 against righties), but also contributes with runs (67) and stolen bases (13). He’s homered in two of his last three games and stands out as a strong play against Baltimore Orioles righty Dylan Bundy (2-2, 3.70 ERA), who will be making just his second career start on Friday.

High Value

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox (4,100): Bogaerts continues to be underpriced for the production he’s posting. He went 3-for-4 (21 DK points) in Thursday’s win against the Minnesota Twins, and could be in line for a similar outing on Friday. Bogaerts is 2-for-6 with a double in his career against right-hander Kyle Gibson (2-6, 5.12 ERA). Seven shortstops are priced higher than Bogaerts, but he represents the best overall value.

Trea Turner, Nationals (3,600): Turner has immediately shown the talent and skill set that made him one of baseball’s top prospects. The 23-year-old has hit safely in five games and has reached double-digit DK points in four straight games. His .571 slugging percentage against right-handers is impressive, and it bodes well for Friday’s matchup with San Diego Padres righty Luis Perdomo (3-4, 7.36 ERA).
