Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell missed multiple drug tests, according to Ian Rapoport.

Le’Veon Bell isn’t a stranger to facing suspension. He missed the first two games of the 2015 season for a DUI/marijuana possession arrest. Now he’ll likely miss the first four games of the 2016 season due to missing drug tests. Bell claimed that he’s never missed a single drug test and that he will appeal the suspension.

Well, Bell might not be telling the complete truth. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Bell missed several drug tests.

It’s important to note here that Bell’s suspension isn’t for failing the drug tests, it’s for not showing up entirely. As Bell has already violated the NFL’s substance abuse policy, he’s liable to take several drug tests a year according to policy. If Bell missed several, there’s no real way to tell if he would have failed the drug test, but the NFL considers a missed test, a failed test.

Bell is appealing the suspension, but it’s likely he won’t win. You can’t miss multiple tests and then turn around and say you never missed a single one. Even if the truth is somewhere in the middle, that would still mean that Bell missed a test, and would still be suspended. Appealing the suspension will undoubtedly be a moot point in the end. Bell will still miss the first four games of the season. Update your fantasy football rosters and Steelers expectations accordingly.
