With the NFL becoming increasingly a passing-oriented league, here are the top five rated wide receivers in EA Sports’ Madden 2017.

Late summer in the United States means that NFL training camp and technically the NFL season is right around the corner. That also means that EA Sports’ massively popular NFL video game franchise Madden will hit the shelves for all video game and football enthusiasts.

While the NFL is still very much a quarterback driven league, one reason that many of the franchise quarterbacks across the league have had so much success the last several years is due to great play from their star wide receivers. Here are the top five wideouts in Madden 2017 in terms of their overall game rating.

It’s incredibly difficult to have any gripes with these top five rated NFL wideouts in Madden 2017. All-Pro Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers is the best player in the video game, earning a 97 overall rating.

The Atlanta Falcons star receiver Julio Jones is right behind Brown with a 96 overall rating in Madden 2017. The Cincinnati Bengals’ A.J. Green, the New York Giants’ Odell Beckham, Jr., and the Houston Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins round out the top five, all of which earned a 93 overall rating in the video game.

Perhaps the biggest snub to not receive top five designation might be the Dallas Cowboys’ enigmatic receiver Dez Bryant. He is immensely gifted but had a down season last year after starting quarterback Tony Romo broke his collarbone (twice).

Other snubs could include Arizona Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald, Jacksonville Jaguars’ Allen Robinson, Oakland Raiders’ Amari Cooper, and New York Jets’ Brandon Marshall. Surely these five (including Bryant) will be able to help your favorite team in any capacity on Madden 2017.
