Patrick Peterson would love to cover Odell Beckham Jr.

In the midst of Odell Beckham’s comments on Josh Norman, he praised Patrick Peterson as the best cornerback in the NFL. Peterson said that he’d love a shot at Beckham.
Patrick Peterson and Odell Beckham Jr. aren’t slated to play against each other in 2016, but that didn’t stop Peterson’s desire to go up against Beckham.
On the heels of Beckham’s comments on Josh Norman this week, he named Patrick Peterson the best cornerback in the NFL. In an interview with NFL total access, Peterson said he’d love to go up against Beckham.
In his 5 years in the NFL, Peterson has 17 picks and 57 defended passes. Stats don’t tell the whole story for Peterson, as the further he’s gotten in his career, the more opposing quarterbacks have stayed away from him. His decreased production in terms of interceptions is a result of him getting better, not getting worse.
Beckham has the most receiving touchdowns of any wide receiver in the past two years. He’s quickly evolving into one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and he’s not making any friends along the way. His feud with Josh Norman will be exacerbated due to Norman’s new home in Washington, and he certainly doesn’t have any friends with the Dallas Cowboys, especially not after making one of the best catches of all-time against them his rookie year.
A Patrick Peterson – Odell Beckham Jr. matchup would be one of the few individual battles in the NFL worthy of watching every single play. They won’t be playing each other anytime soon, but when they do, expect it to be one of the best battles of the year.
