Full highlights, results, and more for John Cena, Enzo and Cass vs The Club at WWE Battleground 2016

John Cena and AJ Styles have been coming at one another’s head for weeks now, but it wasn’t until Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson also got involved that things started to look quite dire for the illustrious Cena. That’s when Enzo and Big Cass ultimately couldn’t take watching John Cena get mercilessly beat down anymore and ultimately came out to set up a match at WWE Battleground 2016.

Though not part of the match, Enzo delivered arguably his best promo to date before The Club made their entrance, handing out advice in the process.

The action was slow-moving as Enzo and AJ Styles started the match off, especially as the crowd chanted “soc-cer mom” at Styles. However, it was when Cass was tagged in that things really turned in favor of the faces in this matchup.

Turning in their favor also included some of the innovative offense that Enzo and Cass use, namely throwing Enzo at their opponents.

However, with Enzo as the legal man once again, things got a bit dicey as The Club were able to isolate him and essentially take part in methodically beating him down while keeping him away from his corner.

However, Enzo was able to make a great run at one point of avoiding all three members of The Club, but was intercepted by Anderson as he tried to make the tag.

It still opened a window, though, and a little more fight from Amore allowed him to get Cena in the match. Things devolved quickly, though, after Cena’s comeback and a Five Knuckle Shuffle as everyone was taken out, including Cena off of a wicked Spinebuster onto the announce table from Anderson and a nasty diving DDT to Anderson from Enzo.

With bodies thrown everywhere in and around the ring, Styles got his wits about him and hit the Sytles Clash, but Cass was somehow able to break up the pin. Styles was then taken out as Cass also was still barely able to move, leaving Enzo up against both Gallows and Anderson. That didn’t end well for him, though he showed no fear.

After Gallows got rid of Enzo, though, Cena came to. As he prepared to dispatch Gallows, AJ too came back into the fold on the top rope. John Cena then knocked Styles off his perch, clotheslined Gallows out of the ring, and then fought to hit a Super AA off the ropes.

That was enough for the pin and the win for the good guys.

Winners: John Cena, Enzo and Cass
