Former Florida Gators starting quarterback Treon Harris has decided to transfer with two years of eligibility left. Here are five landings spots for Harris.

On Monday, another former starting quarterback for the Florida Gators has decided to transfer. Junior Treon Harris has elected to leave Jim McElwain’s SEC East program before the start of the 2016 NCAA season.

Though he played in 20 games for the Gators the previous two seasons, it seems that Harris wasn’t one of McElwain’s guys. McElwain is likely going to go with Luke Del Rio at starting quarterback this fall for Florida with promising true freshman Feleipe Franks in the mix somewhat as a backup.

Harris did have multiple off the field issues in Gainesville as an underclassman, but did quarterback two bowl eligible teams his two years with the Gators. Though his completion percentage is suspect at best (50.3% for his career), Harris does offer intrigue as a run-first quarterback, capable of winning games as a respectable dual threat passer.

While he now joins the likes of Jeff Driskel and Will Grier as recent transfers from the Florida program, here are five teams that could be interesting fits for Harris in his final two years of collegiate eligibility. He’ll first have to decide if he wants to stay in-state, assuming Florida allows it, or what head coach can get the most out of his interesting skill set.
