Taking a look at when the Baltimore Ravens will begin their training camp

The Baltimore Ravens are a team that have recently prided themselves in consistently making the playoffs. Since drafting quarterback Joe Flacco in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft and hiring head coach John Harbaugh in the same year, the Ravens have only missed the playoffs twice. Their 5-11 finish in 2015 was their worst record since the 2007 season.

Baltimore was cursed by injuries last season, with many stars including Steve Smith Sr., Terrell Suggs, and Joe Flacco each missing significant time. In Suggs’ case, he missed the whole season after being injured in the season opener. They can start over with a clean slate due to health and some huge offseason changes.

Hopefully this year’s training camp will not be injury riddled. With the Pittsburgh Steelers losing star running back Le’Veon Bell for the first four games and the Cincinnati Bengals losing star linebacker Vontaze Burfict for the first three games, Baltimore has a real chance to contend in the AFC North in 2016.

Rookies have already reported to training camp and have been at camp since July 22. With a number of rookies expected to contribute in 2016, that’s probably a smart idea. Veterans will report on July 27. Training camp will be held at Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Maryland with several open practice dates at M&T Bank Stadium that fans will be allowed to attend.
