The former Panthers star is running out of NFL options and may have to consider moving north of the border to find employment.

Greg Hardy is trying to find a place to continue his career; unfortunately what he wants and what he gets are two different things.

The former second-team All NFL defensive end is no longer the player he once was and even in decline he could have landed a roster spot somewhere. After a tryout with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have not said yea or nay whether they are interested, the Washington Redskins have completely passed on the soon-to-be 28-year-old, according to Bleacher Report and multiple reports.

Despite losing linebacker Junior Galette for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, Washington doesn’t want to take on a player whose skills has eroded and, maybe more importantly, carrying a ton of baggage with him. Even with the reported endorsement by former Panthers’ teammate Josh Norman, they took a pass.

The Dallas Cowboys effectively gave him a 12-game tryout last year and while he did record six sacks, that paled in comparison to his Pro Bowl year in 2013 when he recorded 15 after 11 the season before. He was on his way to being a perennial feared presence in the Panthers defense, but his life took a dark turn with an alleged assault on his girlfriend as he threatened to kill her. According to police reports he dragged her around and threw her on a bed covered with assault rifles.

Hardy’s toxicity has become so bad that regardless of needs by some teams, no one is willing to touch him. His only hope now is for the Jaguars to reconsider or else the Mississippi alum will have to look to the Canadian Football League, if anyone would have him there.
