A lawsuit has been filed by Amelia Molitor, the victim of Joe Mixon’s 2014 assault.

With around a month and a half until college football season, Joe Mixon is learning that Amelia Molitor is filing a lawsuit against him based on his 2014 assault. When Mixon struck Molitor on the jaw he fractured her jaw and cheekbone, and after she faced condemnation from Oklahoma fans.

Molitor and her legal team are going after Mixon for negligence, willful and wanton misconduct, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The full lawsuit, which can be found here, explains how Molitor plans to claim reparations for hospital bills, legal fees, as well as emotional distress.

She claims that she has stopped attending Sooner football games as a result. Amelia Molitor was a student at Oklahoma when the incident occurred, and earlier this July she sat down with The Oklahoman to tell her story.

The story details Amelia Molitor’s lifelong Sooner fandom that came to an end because of the actions of those in the fanbase. Mixon allegedly used a homosexual slur against one of her friends, after which Molitor shoved Mixon. Mixon lunged back with a closed fist, after which Molitor slapped him.

Mixon then threw a punch that took Molitor off her feet. Neither Molitor or Mixon has ever spoken on the exact details of what happened, so allegations are all we have to go on. Multiple attempts to acquire the video tape of the incident have been denied.
