Josh Gordon is back in the National Football League.

After failing multiple drug tests and being suspended for the entire 2015 season, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been reinstated into the league, according to a press release. Gordon, 25, is suspended for the first four games of the season but can play Week 5 against the New England Patriots.

Cleveland desperately needs a weapon, but is this the right fit? Head coach Hue Jackson is a no-nonsense type, so does Gordon even make it to the regular season before being traded elsewhere? It will be a story to watch throughout training camp.

The Washington Redskins got some bad news on Monday, with defensive end Junior Galette tearing his Achilles tendon for the second consecutive year. Galette was brought over from the New Orleans Saints last year with the idea he could provide additional pass rush, but after tearing both Achilles tendons over two years, one can wonder if he ever plays again.

San Francisco 49ers right tackle Anthony Davis is seeking reinstatement from the NFL as well, submitting his letter to the 49ers and league. Davis is not coming back from suspension but retirement, having stayed away from the game for a year. Only 26 years old, Davis was one of the best lineman in football before stepping away in 2015 to consider other options.

And then there is the NFL and NFLPA, finally agreeing to get tough on concussion protocol and those who violate it. For years, there has been policy in place for players who leave the field with concussion-like symptoms, and yet it seems far too many get back on the gridiron. Now, the two sides have agreed to stiffen penalties for teams that don’t abide by the rules, getting ready to levy both draft pick forfeitures and fines.
