Dirk Nowitzki might be an incredible athlete for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, but the German big man should stick to basketball because he can’t play soccer.

Life is pretty good right now for the greatest player in Dallas Mavericks history in power forward Dirk Nowitzki. He will now likely retire as a lifelong member of the Dallas basketball franchise, garnering a new lifetime achievement contract: two years for $50 million.

He chose to celebrate his new deal with the Mavericks a bit out of character. The Mavericks superstar decided to play a pickup soccer game in his native Germany for charity. While Nowitzki was a three-sport athlete growing up (tennis, handball, and of course basketball), he’s not really good at soccer.

Nowitzki is seen trying to land a bicycle kick and completely whiffs. He might be a seven-footer, but doesn’t have the soccer chops to land this impressive shot on goal attempt.

After that failed bicycle kick attempt, no, Nowitzki wasn’t done trying to be awesome on the soccer pitch. During a penalty kick, he trolls Italian National Team’s Simone Zaza’s failed Running Man penalty kick versus Germany in the 2016 Euros.

Soccer might be the most popular sport in Germany and Nowitzki is certainly one of the country’s most popular athletes, but he should just stick to playing basketball in the United States for the Mavericks.
