On Thursday, the Division I head football coaches came together and voted on who they believed were the top 25 programs in the country heading into the 2016 NCAA season. Here’s a look at the 2016 Preseason Amway Coaches Poll.

To be fair, the coaches mostly got it right. Seemingly, the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Clemson Tigers, and the Oklahoma Sooners should be the top three teams in the country with a clear gap between them and No. 4 Florida State.

All five Power 5 conferences had at least four schools make the initial top 25. As expected, the SEC had the most with six (No. 1 Alabama, No. 6 LSU, No. 10 Tennessee, No. 12 Ole Miss, No. 16 Georgia, No. 25). All five Power 5 conferences had at least one team in the top 10. The Pac-12 got the shaft with the Stanford Cardinal at No. 7, but the Pac-12 may just have a lot of really good teams, but no great teams in 2016.

After carefully inspecting the initial top 25 according to the coaches, there were a few teams that were slightly overhyped and a few teams that aren’t getting their due justice entering the 2016 campaign. Here are the five teams that were ranked incorrectly in the 2016 Preseason Amway Coaches Poll.
