The Summer Olympics are here for 2016 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and that means coverage of many different sports events and athletic competitions. NBC and their various related channels will be providing the coverage of the different events for this summer’s Olympics. Among those channels will be the Golf Channel.

Golf will be played at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio with some of the top stars in the game competing. It will be a men’s individual sport with bronze, silver and gold medals awarded to the various winners in the respective men’s and women’s fields.

Among the men’s stars competing are Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed and Matt Kuchar of the United States. Other notable golf stars include Martin Kaymer, Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose for the men’s field.

The Golf Channel is set to present approximately 115 hours of coverage of the men’s and women’s Olympic golf competitions. Coverage is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 14 for the men. For the women’s event, coverage is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 17 through Saturday, Aug. 20.

So which channel can these events be viewed on? The Golf Channel will be different depending on one’s cable or satellite provider. It’s best to check the official website listings for the channel for DirecTV, Time Warner or Comcast, depending on which service you use.

There will be plenty of Olympics coverage from Rio 2016 to watch and golf will certainly be a popular attraction for fans of the sport. The event will certainly be on display as it makes its major return to the Olympics schedule after over 100 years on hiatus.
