Mark Sanchez has a new play to add to his bundle of highlights. This time, it was a gorgeous 32-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas.

Mark Sanchez is starting his time off with the Denver Broncos well. After an up and down career with the New York Jets, the former fifth overall pick looks to turn around his career with the Denver Broncos.

While the Denver Broncos are having a competition at the quarterback position, Sanchez was announced as the starter for the first preseason game.

On the Broncos first drive, the defending Super Bowl champions had a long scoring drive that was capped off with a 32-yard strike from Sanchez to receiver Demaryius Thomas.

If the Denver Broncos wish to defend their newly minted NFL title, then they will have to hope that Sanchez and Thomas develop strong chemistry quickly. Luckily for Broncos fans, the team will have four preseason games to get their offense humming, and their head coach Gary Kubiak is known as a quarterback whisperer.

Sanchez’s play in this preseason game must be the kind of performance that the Broncos’ general manager envisioned when he acquired the veteran passer from the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s a good sign to see Sanchez having a hot start with the Broncos. [Editor’s note: He did throw an INT later.] However, every season countless players have a good preseason only to disappoint in the regular season. When looking at Sanchez, one nice throw in a meaningless game cannot erase several seasons of average to below average play.
