The NBA schedule is being released this afternoon, but where can you watch the action on television?

After an offseason shortened by Olympics action, the NBA season is just around the corner from getting underway. It feels like the NBA Finals were just a few weeks ago and that the NBA Draft is still fresh in our minds.

But the NBA season is starting in just a few months and the unofficial start of the season happens this afternoon when the schedule is released. Free agency is now behind us, the Cavaliers have had time to celebrate the team’s first title in franchise history and the Warriors have reloaded in the most aggressive way possible.

All of this has us craving the schedule release so we can start circling dates on our calendars for games we will have to watch. Before we get to blocking off entire evenings that are still months away, we need to know what the schedule looks like.

That means finding out when and where the schedule is dropping. We know that the schedule drops at roughly 5:45pm ET but you might be wondering where you can see major sports networks start to discuss the schedule after it is released.

NBA TV is the most likely place to have blanket coverage of the NBA schedule, but don’t sleep on ESPN. While they may not have immediate coverage the second the schedule drops, you can bet that the 6pm ET SportsCenter will lead with Olympics and then transition into having the NBA crew discuss the best and worst games that the schedule revealed.

Already games are starting to leak, including a Knicks-Celtics and Warriors-Cavs Christmas Day bookending affair. We will find out more tonight when the schedule is officially released in full.
