Following the release of the Suicide Squad film, Injustice 2 has announced Harley Quinn and Deadshot will be added to the game’s roster of playable fighters.

The first entry in Injustice series, Injustice: God Among Us, was definitely a treat for fans of both Mortal Kombat and DC Comics. The game combined the best of both worlds and was well-received by many. Mortal Kombat is arguably the most popular fighting game franchise of all time and with Injustice: Gods Among Us, NetherRealm Studios delivered a fighting game with those same mechanics that also featured iconic superheroes from the DC Comics universe as playable characters, including Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

In June, a sequel to the game was officially announced. Injustice 2 looks as if it will give us more of the same while enhancing the overall experience. The introduction of new fighting and gameplay mechanics and more personal customization, including character creation, are some of the most notable features.

At SDCC 2016, it was also announced that Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle would be joining the roster. At Gamescom 2016, two more characters were unveiled as playable fighters: Harley Quinn and Deadshot.

Suicide Squad has been dominating headlines recently, so there really couldn’t be a better time to introduce these characters. It’s also great to see the roster constantly growing. This will give gamers a lot more options when picking a fighter to play with.

In the Suicide Squad film, Deadshot was definitely one of the fan favorites, but it was Harley Quinn who stole the show. She’ll probably be the most used character in the game. Regardless, from the trailer, both characters look like they’ll be a ton of fun to use.

Injustice 2 is set to release in 2017 on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
