During Friday night’s NFL preseason action, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger connected with receiver Antonio Brown for the sweet 57-yard touchdown pass.

It’s only the preseason, but Pittsburgh Steelers fans got to see a good sign of things that may come in the 2016 NFL season. During Friday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, Ben Roethlisberger was on the field and hooked up with one of his favorite targets: Antonio Brown.

On a third and three, Big Ben found plenty of protection up front. He dropped back, tossed the ball down towards the left sidelines and Brown was there to haul it in.

No. 84 did the rest as he shook off rookie defender De’Vante Harris and ran down the field to the end zone.

The end result was a 57-yard touchdown from Roethlisberger to Brown. A flag was called on the play, but it was against the defense, meaning the touchdown would stand to give Pittsburgh a 14-0 lead.

This is Week 3 of four of the NFL preseason. It’s also the first time this preseason that starters Roethlisberger and Brown were on the field, as well as Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams. Prior to this game, the team lost their first two games of the preseason. With the starters making an appearance, it seems to have supercharged the offense.

In the 2015-16 season, Brown played in all 16 games. He compiled 1,834 yards and 10 touchdowns. Big Ben appeared in 12 games during the regular season with 319-for-469 completed passes. That was good for 3,938 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The two starters should be on the field when the team takes on the Washington Redskins for Week 1 of the regular season. It’ll be part of the doubleheader for Monday Night Football with the game to take place at Maryland’s FedExField.

While this touchdown pass is a great sight to see for fans, they may also be secretly hoping for the coach to quickly take those guys out. After seeing what happened to Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo in last night’s preseason action, teams probably don’t want to take too many chances ahead of the real season.
