Nike bestowed upon Craig Sager its highest honor, creating shoes in his style and likeness in a limited edition — just two for now.

Craig Sager has become part of the NBA culture in a very emotional way.

The sideline reporter has always had his own style and a way to connect with players. His suits were always loud and interesting and Sager worse something different to each game. It was as much a part of the TNT broadcasts he was a part of as anything else.

Fans and players alike looked forward to his reports in between quarters. And they were all heartbroken when Sager was diagnosed with cancer, were all cheering for him when he seemed to beat it initially and were all praying and hoping he could recover again when the cancer appeared to come back.

Sager had to miss the Olympics as he continued his recovery. The NBA world was disappointed as tributes continued to come through for him. The latest one should be up his alley though.

DJ Khaled revealed on Instagram a specially designed Nike Air Jordan 1 shoes done in the Sager style with a special message for Sager:

There are not many of these beautiful shoes yet, but they are certainly a fitting honor for Sager and the NBA family.

The plaid and clashing styles is certainly befitting of the Sager name.

It is unclear at this point whether these shoes will go for sale to the general public. For now there are only two, according to DJ Khaled. No word yet if Sager will receive a pair either.

He very well could end up wearing these shoes to a TNT game. But more likely than not he will stick his alligator leather shoes that have become his trademark.

Hopefully NBA fans will see Sager on the sidelines when the season opens in October.
