During Week 3 of the NFL preseason, Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III found receiver Josh Gordon for the 43-yard touchdown strike.

Cleveland Browns fans may have something to get excited about this coming season. A glimpse of what lies ahead came on Friday night during a Week 3 preseason game as new quarterback Robert Griffin III connected with Josh Gordon for the touchdown.

The highlight-worthy play popped up on the NFL’s Twitter account showcasing RG3’s absolute bomb of a pass down the field.

As it was noted by the commentators, the pass was “just a hair underthrown.” That didn’t matter because receiver Josh Gordon has the height and athleticism to make the adjustments.

Gordon pulled in the pass just a short distance ahead of the endzone and then ran it in as his defender fell to the ground. It brought Cleveland a bit back to life as they’d been trailing by 24 until that play.

It wasn’t the first big connection between the two in the Week 3 preseason game. On the Browns’ first possession of the contest, Griffin threw a 44-yard pass to Gordon to get the first down.

Up until this point, Gordon had been almost traded by the Browns. He’s suspended four games for the regular season but continues to be one of the more talented receivers in the NFL. Griffin III is looking for a season of redemption for himself with his new team after struggling in Washington after a bad string of injuries.

On the heels of a Cavaliers’ NBA championship it has the city of Cleveland hoping for more good things to come from their other sports teams. The Indians are looking good right now in MLB as they lead the Central Division. That means the Browns will have to step it up.
