Triple H returned on WWE RAW after months of being off TV to attack Roman Reigns and then turn on Seth Rollins to help Kevin Owens win the Universal title

The newly minted WWE Universal Championship was on the line in the main event of WWE RAW. It was Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Big Cass competing in an elimination match to determine the new champ in the wake of Finn Balor’s injury. However, there was someone else who would insert themselves into the action: a returning Triple H.

With Big Cass having already been eliminated, only three competitors remained. And just when it looked like Roman Reigns might be about to cause every fan to groan, Triple H appeared. Out of nowhere, the company’s COO showed up at ringside and took out Reigns in a big way. He hit Roman with a Pedigree on the floor and then shoved him into the ring. That was all to set up Rollins then eliminating Reigns.

After that, everyone seemed to think that Rollins was about to be the new champ. However, Triple H had other plans. With Owens pinned in the corner, the boss turned around and took out Rollins. He delivered a strong kick and then another Pedigree that left everyone in shock. Once he recovered from the shock, Owens scrambled and scored the pinfall victory. Subsequently, Kevin Owens is the new WWE Universal Champion.

Here’s a look at how the whole scene played out:

Obviously Owens now being champ changes things. However, Triple H turning on Rollins may be the bigger story here. Not only is that a strong alliance now dissolved, but now we have another big secondary feud boiling.

Though it may have taken them longer than some would like, things are looking up for WWE RAW. Triple H is back and he has a new guy, Kevin Owens, that he’s now backing. It feels pretty safe to say that the RAW brand should now consider themselves warned about what’s coming their way.
