The Chiefs are shopping one of their five quarterbacks in Aaron Murray.

The Kansas City Chiefs are shopping former Georgia star and third-year NFL quarterback, Ian Rapoport of NFL network is reporting. Best known for his collegiate days with the Bulldogs down in Athens, Murray was initially considered to be the Chiefs’ next backup QB. That was all before Nick Foles was acquired, of course. With Murray buried on a depth chart of five, Kansas City is now finding him expendable.

Despite all the record-breaking numbers at Georgia, Murray has yet to show he can be a true NFL signal-caller. A fifth-round selection back in 2014, his draft stock suffered after tearing his ACL as a senior and his lack of size at the position didn’t help either. Murray was considered to be a nice value pick for the Chiefs at the time. One of the top quarterbacks in the nation, his skill-set fit Andy Reid’s system. Time is money in the NFL, and he may now need to make his money somewhere else.

Perhaps the Minnesota Vikings could be an option now?

News broke on Tuesday afternoon that Vikings starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has suffered what looks to be a serious left knee injury. This could turn out to be a derailing injury for the Vikings, potentially ruining their aspirations for contention.

Right now, the options behind Bridgewater are 15-year veteran Shaun Hill and rookie Joel Stave. The Chiefs may have just found themselves a new bargaining partner for Aaron Murray. Hill is more than capable of running an offense with his experience, but the Vikings could now use depth behind him. Stave is by no means ready for game action, so Murray could be inserted as a backup. Look for a possible deal between these two teams at some point potentially.
