With college football season kicking into high gear, answering the question of what TV channel the Big 12 Network is on

There’s not much better in college football than the action in the Big 12. Though some of the powerhouses like the Texas Longhorns have seen their star fade, it’s still always exciting. With the emphasis that many teams in the conference place on offense, you can always count on shootouts. Moreover, these programs all still have tremendous pedigrees and recruit incredible talent. And with every other conference having a network to their own, it stands to reason why fans would be searching out the Big 12 Network.

However, the unfortunate truth is that the Big 12 Network is no more. While there was a standalone network for quite some time for Big 12 basketball, there isn’t one anymore. Moreover, there isn’t one for football either. What’s more is that there are reportedly no plans for the conference to get their own network. Even though the ACC’s new deal leaves the Big 12 as the only conference without one, that’s the plan for now.

The good news is that college football fans seeking out Big 12 action on the gridiron aren’t just left sitting on their hands. Both ESPN and FOX have a deal in place to air a select slate of games throughout the season. These games will be shown on the vast array of networks under each umbrella.

Without a doubt, fans should try and catch as many games out of the Big 12 as humanly possible. Even if there isn’t a Big 12 Network, that doesn’t change the excitement or quality of the product. The Oklahoma Sooners and TCU Horned Frogs both rank in the Top-15 teams in the country and many other could join them. It’d be criminal to miss all of the fun.
