A middle-school boy with autism did not have to worry about eating lunch alone anymore after receiving a visit from a Florida State football player.

Florida State wide receiver Travis Rudolph immediately took an opportunity to perform a selfless act when visiting Montford Middle School with teammates. This school is located in Tallahassee, Florida. The Florida State junior receiver noticed a boy sitting alone at a lunch table and joined him. The boy’s mother was clearly touched by Rudolph’s kindness, and she revealed that her son has autism. She implied that her son would often eat in the cafeteria by himself. She posted a picture of this moving moment on her Facebook profile.

Although Rudolph and his teammates are focusing on the 2016 season, they showed that they are willing to give back to the community. The Seminoles enter this season with serious national championship dreams. They have been ranked fourth in the preseason AP ranking. Rudolph will be a key contributor to the Seminoles offense. The junior led the team in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns. Rudolph caught 59 passes for 916 yards and seven touchdowns.

However, the Seminoles will face adversity at the start of their season. Starting quarterback Sean Maguire will miss the season opener against No. 11 Ole Miss to continue healing from foot surgery. Redshirt freshman Deondre Francois will accept the challenge of taking his place. The Seminoles will face an uphill battle as they look to escape with a win over the Rebels. Florida State will also have an epic conference matchup against No. 2 Clemson.

Rudolph will look to replicate and improve on his 2015 season and make Francois’ transition smooth. Regardless of whether Rudolph succeeds in his quest to help deliver the Seminoles a national title, he will always have his heartwarming visit to Montford Middle School to remember.
