Were you about to spend your evening playing the Battlefield 1 open beta that finally finished downloading to your PS4? Well surprise, you can’t.

Reports have been popping up that PlayStation Network is down for many PS4 users who were planning on settling in for a relaxing night of gaming.

PlayStation has acknowledged that there is an issue.

While PlayStation seems to claim that the issue revolves around users trying to log in, for many the error message actually displayed on the console states that the network is undergoing maintenance.

And the evening is ruined.

As PlayStation is presumably attempting to fix things, the outage has progressively gotten worse, spreading to PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Music.

As you may have already guessed, people are very, very unhappy about this.

This server outage has also come at probably the worst time, as Battlefield 1‘s open beta just opened to the general public yesterday. For many, myself included, it took most of yesterday just to install the beta, which meant today would have been the first time they actually got to play it.

But I guess that’s not happening anymore.

Cue all the classic servers-are-down rage Tweets that we know and love:

But wait, there’s more! Not only is the PSN outage affecting the Battlefield 1 open beta, it is also messing with Call of Duty XP, a massive Call of Duty tournament.

So we tip our hats to you, PlayStation Network. Thanks for being there when we need you most.
