Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Chad Kelly is bailed out by freshman wide receiver D.K. Metcalf on this amazing touchdown catch. Kelly’s uncle Jim loved it.

Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Chad Kelly is arguably the best quarterback in the SEC in 2016. He has NFL arm talent and quick legs as a scrambler. Kelly is the nephew of Buffalo Bill Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.

Up 7-3 on Florida State early in the second quarter, Kelly makes a high risk, high reward throw on second and goal from the Seminoles three yard line. Kelly throws a fade to freshman wide receiver D.K. Metcalf on an island, but needs his receiver to bail him out on this one.

Kelly’s fade to Metcalf was way short of the back left corner of the Florida State end zone. Metcalf had to bat the under-thrown football to himself for his first career touchdown at Ole Miss. Uncle Jim was in attendance for the Florida State/Ole Miss game in Orlando and was ecstatic his nephew Chad got his second passing touchdown of the season.

Kelly is having himself quite the day early against Florida State’s secondary. In a conference that is better known for its running backs and front sevens defensively, Ole Miss appears to have itself one fine quarterback.

His pedigree will help Kelly’s draft stock this spring. There is a decent chance that Kelly could be a first-round talent for some team picking in the teens or early 20s of the 2017 NFL Draft. Ole Miss will go as far as Kelly’s arm and legs will take the football team. Can Kelly lead Ole Miss to its first SEC Championship Game in 2016?
