The playboy of Hollywood received special treatment from roast host, David Spade and others.

A five-time recipient of the “50 Most Beautiful People” by People’s Magazine, Rob Lowe might be more famous for his good looks than his on-screen talent.

A troubled young actor, Lowe faced adversity firsthand in the early stages of his career. In the late-1980’s, the Virginia-born actor buried himself in a scandal involving an underaged girl in Atlanta. Even as time progressed, Lowe was continually mocked for his sexual appetite with his on-air colleagues.

Now a married man with kids, he managed to break free from the libations that controlled him. Following twenty-six years of sobriety, Lowe remade himself in Hollywood, casting  roles in The West WingParks and Recreation and Code Black.

With this restructure, Lowe has not only mapped out a new moral code for himself, but cleaned his slate for things to come. How ever the good news may be, Comedy Central felt like tearing that wall down by making him the subject of its raunchy comedy special, the Comedy Central Roast.

Serving as a plot to slander past and present celebrities, a panel of peers will evaluate the roastee at the most personal and humiliating level. And regardless of how tasteless the humor, the objective is clear: it isn’t a tea party.

The inaugural Comedy Central Roast (2003) featured Denis Leary as the victim. An event that totaled an estimated 3.2 million viewers, Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm), took over as the roast master for a line of comedians, which included Dane Cook and Gilbert Gottfried.

One frequent member of the Comedy Central Roast, Jeff Ross, hasn’t been absent from the debauchery since the 2005 roast of Pamela Anderson. This year, Roastmaster Ross paid homage to the late Prince by outfitting himself in a blown-up curly wig and midnight purple.

In the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe, Ross and others didn’t delay in manufacturing an assault on his personal life concerning the sex tape from the 80’s. The scandal even made an appearance in the montage at the beginning. Though seen as a defining moment in Lowe’s life, other moments were captured by the roster of roasters, which included Rob Riggle and Peyton Manning.
