San Diego Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa is not happy that he won’t be making his debut against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Joey Bosa didn’t have the same training camp as most rookies. He missed all of it because of a contract dispute with the San Diego Chargers, which cost him valuable reps and practice with his team. Now, that he is under contract, Bosa was hoping that he was going to make his debut on Sunday. However, he’s been battling a nagging leg injury and that’s going to keep him out.

According to Mary Caswell, Bosa’s leg is doing better, but he’s not happy that he wont’ be making his debut on Sunday. It’s a tough pill for the rookie to swallow, as he will be forced to watch his team from the sidelines.

No one wants to spend their first game from the bench, but in the NFL, it happens. Injuries are a real thing and there are already plenty of rookies that won’t be making their debuts this week either. Bosa’s is a bit more polarizing because of what has transpired to this point, but the Chargers are hoping they can get him out on the field sooner rather than later.

It’s not going to be an easy game at Kansas City this week for the Chargers, but going against a playoff team from last year could have been great experience. Bosa will have to give it a go at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.
