New manager, same old Bayern Munich. Replacing Pep Guardiola is never an easy task, but if anybody can do it, it’s Carlo Ancelotti. The Bavarian outfit haven’t lost a match under his guidance yet, and their style of play has been outstanding to watch. In addition to hammering Werder Bremen 6-0, they also beat Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup and won their DFB-Pokal opener 5-0 over Carl Zeiss Jena.
Schalke knew they were in a transition period coming into this season. Having lost the likes of Leroy Sane and Joel Matip to the Premier League, they’ve been searching for players who can fill the void. So far, they haven’t found it as they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 in their first Bundesliga match. It won’t get any easier against Bayern Munich, but they’ll be motivated to beat their rivals at home.
