The first week of the season is in the books and with that comes the latest 2017 NFL mock draft, flush with adjusted orders and some big trades.

Please let it be known that the pecking order of these mock drafts will be based off the weekly NFL power rankings from NFL.com. This is done in order to establish an easy, understandable order and prevent misunderstandings. Once the season begins to wind down, that is when things will start to get more creative as it becomes clear which teams will compete for top picks and which will compete for the playoffs.

Also keep in mind that some positions may switch based on trades.

1. Cleveland Browns

53. The first pick can’t always be about the quarterback position. It’s supposed to be about getting the absolute best players there is to get coming out of college. Almost everybody assumes the Cleveland Browns will hold that pick and a quarterback will be the hands-down choice. That’s not necessarily the case. The team seems committed to their efforts in resuscitating the career of former No. 2 overall pick Robert Griffin III. He’s only 26 years old and made the Pro Bowl once before. In the right environment he might be able to regain that form.
If that’s the case, then they will be seeking the best player available. Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett is one of the few favorites to hold that honor. From a talent standpoint there isn’t much to hate about the kid. He’s big and strong enough to play defensive end but athletic and quick enough for outside linebacker. His technique has improved steadily and will only get better after another year in school. That shift has begun from where teams realize that stopping him is no longer possible. It’s about slowing him down now.
. OLB. Texas A&M. Myles Garrett . 1. player
