In the second of the two AFC East matchups this weekend, the Dolphins will travel to Foxborough after a tough loss in Seattle.

New England shocked everyone but themselves and their fans Sunday Night, defeating the Cardinals in Arizona without the likes of tight end Rob Gronkowski (hamstring), their future Hall of Fame quarterback (suspended), and linebacker Rob Ninkovich (suspended). But none of that mattered, as the Patriots took care of business and now look like in prime position to make yet again another Super Bowl run.

Miami really did hang in tough with Seattle. The defense, by surprise, looked really exceptional, in particular the defensive line which many thought (including myself) was too old and washed up. Free safety Isa Abdul-Quddus earned Pro Football Focus’ top free safety spot of the week with an 86.1 rating for Sunday’s game. He broke up two passes and also picked off Russel Wilson.

Things will get easier for the Dolphins next week as they return home for their home opener against the Browns. But first they must take on the Pats. Fun fact: the Dolphins have actually beaten the Patriots each of the last three seasons, and always seem to play their best ball against Belichick and Co., so the Patriots need to be on high upset alert in this one.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was unable to take control of the offense against the Seahawks Sunday. In order to best a comparably stingy Pats D, the Dolphins quarterback will need to be at his absolute best.

Since 2002, the Pats are 13-1 in home openers. With Belichichick at the helm of the team, the Pats are an all time 20-12 versus the Dolphins.
